Intex Airbeds For The Home
The main factor that puts Intex Airbeds in a league of their own is the quality of their research and development in recent years.
Intex don’t just make airbeds. Following a catalogue of faults that beset the airbed industry as a whole, Intex now test them rigorously with members of the public before putting them on the market.
As a result Intex have developed a range of home airbeds to suit all tastes, all requirements and all situations.
There is such a wide choice of Intex Airbeds today that you need to research thoroughly before buying. The following will help:
Classic Downy and Raised Downy
The Classic Downy is the basic model in Intex Airbeds. It can easily double as an airbed for the home or a camping airbed. It features a plush flock to provide a comfortable sleeping area and is both waterproof and easy to stow and carry. Its 2-in-1 valve makes inflation and deflation a breeze. The included battery-operated pump can be used for all your camping inflatables – ideal for trips.
The Classic Downy comes in three sizes: Twin, Full and Queen. The weight capacity ranges from 300lbs to 600lbs.
The Raised Downy combines the comfort of the Classic Downy, but is raised 22 inches from the floor. This is ideal for those who prefer a higher sleeping surface.
Pillow Rest Airbed and Pillow Rest Deluxe
The Intex Pillow Rest Airbed is also suitable for home and camping. It comes with a duffel bag with a shoulder strap for easy carrying. It’s not quite as high as the Raised Downy, but it is lighter and has a high-strength electric pump. Its main feature, however, is the inbuilt pillow.
The Deluxe version is slightly higher (19 inches from the floor) and has a stronger structure round the edges to provide more stability.
Comfort-Top
The Comfort-Top is a sturdier version of the Classic Downy and this is reflected in the price. The Comfort-Top has a more plush waterproof flock, which extends down the sides. Sheets from your ‘permanent’ beds of the same size will fit perfectly. Unlike the Classic Downy, the Comfort-Top has an in-built mains electric pump for easy inflation.
Twin, Full and Queen mattress sizes are available.
Raised Comfort-Top
This is the Comfort-Top with a few enhancements, and again these are reflected in the price. The main difference is the raised platform which takes the mattress to 22 inches above the floor. This is perfect for those who prefer a more ‘conventional bed’ feel and for those who have mobility issues.
This airbed also has a wired remote-control for ease of inflation and adjusting the firmness of the mattress. A storage bag is included. The Raised Comfort-Top, however, only comes in Queen size.
The 2-in-1 Airbed
This is a really clever idea. The 2-in-1 consists of two full-size mattresses, so if required you can have two separate (but low lying) double airbeds. On the other hand, a central, 360 degrees, stout zipper allows you to combine the mattresses into one raised airbed. This not only saves space, but the raised aspect provides extra ease and comfort for elderly or frail guests.
The 2-in-1 comes in Full and Queen sizes.
Comfort Bed
This is another raised airbed (19 inches off the floor), but the difference is in the construction. It has two independent inflatable chambers, and an offshoot benefit of this is that you can use fitted sheets just like on an ordinary bed. The Comfort Bed is available in Twin sizes as well as Queen.
Air-Flow Bed
This is the latest addition to the Intex Airbeds range and it is designed to be similar to a conventional bed. Many reviewers have commented favourably on the sheer comfort of this airbed. The mattress is raised 20 inches from the floor, and like the Raised Comfort-Top, the Air-Flow Bed only comes in Queen size.
Foam Top Airbed
This airbed is truly hi-tec! The ‘memory foam’ on the surface of the mattress conforms to the shape of the sleeper, thus providing real health benefits and comfort. It has a remote control feature that allows you to not only inflate the airbed, but also to adjust the firmness of the mattress to your own preference. The airbed is raised 22” form the floor and has a weight-bearing ceiling of 600lbs.
Comfort Frame Airbed
Intex claim that this bed is so comfortable and is so visually appealing that it can be used as a permanent bedroom feature, not just as a temporary put-me-up.
Support is the main benefit of the Comfort Frame, as the mattress is positioned inside an inflated frame. It also has a headboard. It comes in Queen size only and can be transformed into two airbeds.
The Deluxe version of the Comfort Frame does not convert into two, but it has the addition of a backrest. This is perfect for those who want to sit up for watching television or reading.
The Comfort Frame Airbed can be fitted with ordinary sheets, blankets and bed decorations such as cushions and throws.
